Once again, Toby Givens pulls another one out and wins the Old School Classic, beating Corey Rolf 1-0. Due to last minute cancellations and some phenomenon known as “High School Football”, only 4 members of the BPL participated, along with a possible new guy, Brian. Full results after the jump. The Old School Classic has been postponed until August. It was to be held at Corey’s house, but someone must have spilled ranch dressing on the furniture.
The fifth annual Texas Cup was played on June 28 in Bedford. After a late start and a convoluted round-robin format, Toby Givens and Mike Nelson met up in the final. Once again Mike found himself the bridesmaid with Toby winning 3-2.
The BPL hosted the 3rd annual Bobby Moore tournament at Arena Athletics on May 10th. The Venus and Serena Williams of the BPL (Scott and Toby Givens) fought it out in the final, with Scott prevailing in the last minutes 3-2. Fireworks ensued as sportsmanship was tossed aside to sibling rivalry.
Toby did one-up Scott by actually managing to break a Tango midway through the first half.
